Look at this fe8 map. There is implied verticality with the top half of the map being connected by stairs. However, the only way you would be able to attack through those walls is with the use of a long bow. Severely limiting your options. I just dont understand why you would want less options when designing a map. No one is saying verticality is some saving grace to map design. No one is saying all fe10 maps are perfect, but it was a cool mechanic that map you think a little bit more on certain maps.
