This is something that both christcucks who throw the term 'larp' around and historyfag traditionalists don't understand. Both groups uncritically take the 19th century victorian view of what a religion even is, i.e. a codified and unchanging creedal social institution, when in reality religion is in essence a total way of life and duty.

What determines what duties we have? Ethics, the study of the good. What determines what's good for us? Nature. How do we attain what's good for us? By being in tune with nature. How do we do that? By listening to our instincts and satisfying all of them without repression or compromise.

Someone like Varg is factually wrong, but his issue isn't that he isn't doing or believing what people from the past did. A historical behaviour isn't automatically a correct behaviour.
