Because they, like most studios, have realized remaking games is 10% of the cost and time to make a new game, and they make just as much money. And there's no thinking or design or anything, it's literally just remaking some 3D assets and textures, maybe remastering the soundtrack and boom. Millions of copies sold.

The only part that annoys me is, they never actually do remakes for games that would actually benefit from it.
P3/P4 don't really get anything from their remakes. You want to remake games that were held back by tech or budget limitations, or simply aged terribly.

Stuff like VTMB. The original Deus Ex. Final Fantasy 7 was actually a good choice (though completely revamping the gameplay was questionable). An example of a bad, pointless remaster is the upcoming MGS3 remake. There is 0 reason for it to exist except to cash grab. The game will gain nothing new from just having better graphics. MGS3's visuals hold up anyway.
That's the problem. Devs are doing it because it's easy work and money, not because they want to perfect their previous work.
