problem is that you're trying to act like there was any depth to the final 6 of BFDIA discounting Coiny and Pin, but say what you will, CoinPin was simply kind of boring to watch just because you already know where it's headed and it doesn't utilize any of the remaining cast. Coiny essentially got boiled down to only interacting with Pin in a way that didn't make him a Fries clone.

Book is simply just Fries except the reverse where she's boring because she's too nice and never does anything of note
Needle has an arc that never leads to anything simply because there's no utilization as to how her character ties into freesmart's ideology, it kind of just... stops. it's suggested that she's still with freesmart as of IDFB 1 but i doubt they're going to explore that, Needle doesn't really fit with freesmart since her chemistry with Pencil just lacks
And Tennis Ball is just Fries without a backbone (see him being more competitive), it was fun to watch for a bit but you can tell they're going to subvert his personality completely by making him submit to Needle so he gets into the finals

The reason why Fries would have made the best winner is simply because he was funny and his place when it would come to the storyline and his reaction to winning was going to be worth it. It's not necessarily out of a place of his character lacking depth, but the other characters aside from Coiny and Pin who are only mutually exclusive to each other's drama have nothing going on either simply because there's no room for the rest of the season, and in that case an actually entertaining character sticks out. It's why Fries was nothing special in BFB-TPOT
