But the biggest factor I think is that Engage has an identity crisis. It's supposed to be the big anniversary game, but at the same time, IS wanted Engage to bring in a new demographic of kids into FE. Seems kinda odd to do that with an anniversary game which requires some knowledge of the older characters and games. Meanwhile, 3H was also in development and IS saw it as nothing more than filler to keep the older fans satisfied until Engage came out.
Engage was supposed to become the next Awakening. Their magnum opus. But in the end, it was the side project that did everything IS hoped to achieved with Engage, while the "next Awakening" game alienated the FE fandom and anyone that could've been interested in FE from getting into the series.
