Could there ever be an anti-pornography temperance movement in the same way there was one for alcohol a century ago? I’m not sure if there could be. I don’t think men would lead the charge.
I believe the vast majority of men, particularly those under 30, are pornography addicts. The average age at which boys seek out and find porn has been 11 years old since internet porn became ubiquitous. That was some time ago, and they’re all adults now (adults with crippling porn addictions, downright weird sexual deviancies, and so much ED that online Viagra pill mills have become a thing).
And we can’t expect modern women to do anything at all, ever. In this case it not only concerns someone other than themselves, but men as a group. So there’s no way in hell women are going to care.
And the only anti-porn voice is usually one of religious morality rather one of a mental health perspective. It’s gained some headway but could just as easily falter. Pretty grim.
