Part 1 you can read in an afternoon. Part 2 in an evening. You should at least read Part 1 and 3 before you read Part 7 since Part 7 has a bunch of callbacks to those parts (even though it's set in a different universe).

Each part is its own self contained story, but aside from 6 -> 7, they all build off of the previous part.
