yes, to me it all seems inevitable
in my opinion its evolution
man transitions into machine
'the machine body' is superior to the "flesh"
if you look at the known universe, there is 'animated' and 'inanimate' matter machines of this complexicity bridge the gap between the two and create the inbetween, viewed on a microscopic, cellular scale.
integration with technology is just a natural conclusion.
example, through a unfortunate accident you loose a hand, now to recover your actionability you substitute the lost organic limb with a prosthethic limb, and naturally strive for it to be as close to the organic limb as possible.
same goes for all prosthetics striving to compliment and or restore lost senses, think of hearing aids or retina implants and there is alot more.
now once these become sophisticated enough to have the loss of an organic limb or sensory organ become unfortunate but 'not a big deal' anymore you, we, reach the point where the question arises why should i not just replace my legs with prosthetic legs ( hypothetically assuming they perform similarly or better than the original ) there is basically no reason other than old fashined habits or beliefs.
this will go on until you can have artificial brains no question asked.
why not ? if i could make myself immune to radiation, extreme temperatures, or strip myself from the need to consume food or sleep on a regular basis i would do it right away.
furthermore in regards to the other aspect of yours, try to pbjectively grasp what mankind is, its layered power structures, macro and micro interactions of what is constituted as 'human life on the planet earth'
the ai integration that you envisioned in your thesis will "smooth out" alot of behavioral oddities that are already existing and prohibit mankind evolving with efficiency.
