Regular Batman's like that too. It's a common theme with characters like GS and Batman where they're not supposed to be the physically strongest character and yet they constantly survive hits which ought to lethal. Not even the tabletop mechanics of GS justify how attacks that are lethal to others don't kill him.

Pic's what I'm talking about and you'll see this all over comics, west and east, where characters who ought to die instantly from getting smashed into concrete by other characters with massive super strength get knocked out or a split lip but don't have skulls smooshed like a horror film.
