Believing in the Flat Earth conspiracy theory has nothing to do with evidence or rational thinking. It's a delusion cooked up for the especially arrogant, specifically those who pride themselves on supposedly knowing how things REALLY work.
That said, I'm pretty sure you could say the same thing about a lot of conspiracy theories and the people who buy into them.
