Even if the harem stuff wasn't in the movie, Jor-El was responsible for the creation of Brainiac. You guys seriously want Supeman to idolize that? Hell, you can't even blame it on Zod anymore because they already used Zod for the Snyderverse. Like seriously, they have no choice but to go down the bad Jor-El plot because you can't use Zod without recycling a movie plotline.
