Indeed. Tokiyuki underwent the same reception despite, long hair aside, being a boy and not comically feminine like a trap (if someone actually watches the show). I think there's some people out there who are so deeply profoundly ashamed of feeling these things that they resort to traps, femboys and other insane crap just as a reaction to the immense prosecution, shaming and ostracization homosexual men face in society to this day. which is why it always trickles down. the more they "ironically" like traps, the more the barrier breaks down, if only slightly. it's a sad and fucked phenomenon but it's reality.
