Putting aside our different tastes, isn't it funny Spidey still got his costume idea from Julia? And Marvel still hasn't addressed that or put out another nostalgia-mini to go over that point? Also yes, MJ's mother-like, nurturing nature would have been great. I feel like if Spencer took a crack at it, it would have mirrored Felicia taking care of Billy Connors. Spidey also beating up Carnage Norman while a bit fucked from a powerscaling perspective, was very cathartic after Slott's humiliation ritual that lasted for years.
