I have faith we will see a new Star Fox game on the Switch 2. Star Fox as a series just never stays down for long.
I think King K. Rool making a return was likely in response to how well he did in the Smash Ballot.
And although she didn't do well enough to become a playable fighter, Krystal appearing as an Assist Trophy was also likely thanks to how well she did in the Ballot.
Which gives me hope that, in that Switch 2 Star Fox game, Krystal will make a return as well. Wolf is a given IMO.
