I just feel that her going from acting completely possessive towards Mikuru, to being genuinely happy to hear random schoolmates being grateful for helping them with their concert in the timeframe of a week at most to be too quick. Having a month where she lets things brew and her negative aspects are more positive/noble rather than purely toxic, as she is stuck inbetween her old ways and improving makes a lot of sense to me, the fact that her actions during endless eight are less malicious, and even noble to an extent is the point as to why it makes sense to place Sigh before.
As for the Nagato depression part, I completely agree on that, I wasnt even thinking that she should have some major crashouts, and consider the fact that she is bottling up her negative emotions to be one of the main things that make her character arc so compelling and personally relatable to me as I too did the same thing as she did, I bottled up my negative emotions and retreated within myself.
The issue is that in Endless eight we can see that she is depressed just from her expressions and actions, when she goes from slurping down the juice in ep1, to having the straw in her mouth but not drinking in ep4, to going to take a sip but then pulling away in ep7, THAT is exactly what I want to see from her, for us to be shown that she is suffering despite the fact that she is trying to hide it and isnt saying anything, Show don’t Tell, and then we go from this masterpiece in visual storytelling to Sigh having her make the same blank expressions she did before this whole thing, that really frustrates me, as it makes it so that I essentially need to ignore Sigh if I want to be fully immersed in her arc from Endless eight to Disappearance.
And this became an even sourer spot when I read through the LNs, and saw constant mention by other characters how Nagato began acting differently ever since the summer, clearly referencing Endless Eight.
