This could be years away or perhaps right around the corner. But even in the short term it feels like tech companies, algorithms and AI are already grooming us into being mindless idiots who spend every waking moment staring at glowing rectangles being fed decisive content and advertisements for vacuous products that nobody really needs. Even still part of me wants it all to happen. I would love to achieve virtual immortality in the best case scenario but even that still terrifies me. I don't want to lose my humanity but I will likely learn to love it and want it no other way if I were to become a super intelligence with the power of a god. But is mind uploading the mark of the beast? Someone tell me it will all be okay and I'm just over thinking everything. Is anyone else going through the same thing?
