Nobody gets into slapfights at the mention of Ferguson, Moss, Onokoy, Popenker, or any of those other guys. Because you know you're talking to a mental adult when they're mentioned. Antiquities revolves around regulating access to scarce goods. Obviously there are many inherent ethical risks associated with that. You have to actively choose not to be sleazy, for your own reasons. I have seen weapons (and other goods) deliberately mischaracterized by auction houses despite prior expert consulting to get ironclad provenance. Brokers & sellers aren't your friends.
