Yeah, I genuinely think it’s a really good movie. I haven’t seen a lot of the recent Pixar movies so I’m not sure how I’d rank it amongst them. I had some insider knowledge about the rewrites that made me apprehensive, but there aren’t really any obvious seams/plot holes resulting from the movie being reworked. Though if you’re familiar with the original version which was a little darker in tone, it’s pretty transparent that the movie was testing badly before the original director left and Turning Red lady was told by Disney to make it lighter/funnier. Elio himself is really cute.
