I've gotten through the first season of Capaldi now in my new-Who rewatch, just finished the Davros two-parter which I'd forgotten most of except for the stupid fucking glasses and the tank which is a shame because there's a lot of good Missy/Master in there and I enjoyed it on rewatch. In fact I think I might say Missy's my favorite non-Delgado version of the master. As much as I like John Simm he was TOO crazy, Missy's more at optimal levels of "About as crazy as the Doctor except enjoys killing people". Not sure if I'd rate her over Ainley but I very well might

I will note that we've moved from DEADLOCK, DEADLOCK, EVERYTHING'S DEADLOCKED to everyone saying SHUT UP CLEVER CLEVERLY SHUT UP and it grinds my gears something fierce but still been enjoying the rewatch

I like Rose a lot as a companion, but I don't know if she'd make a good fit for the Doctor.
I'd rather they stop with all the cameos and the returning characters and just make something completely new; no nostalgia pandering, no "'member this character?"
