Currently, there is basically no reward for killing Darkners. The stats you gain would've been gained anyway upon chapter increment, and you lose hundreds of interactions and funny moments.

The pink and gold prophet in chapter 4 says "The answer ... was LOVE? How absurd"

Deltarune is Undertale in reverse. The best possible ending will be achieved by murdering everything you see, which practically nobody is doing.
