This is the first game in a decade that made me overcome my normal bias against story heavy games. There's gotta be something good here for that to happen. Yeah, it's still got problems, and I dont think Toby can write a satisfying romance if his kromer depended on it, but he makes some sick boss battles and great music.

Let's say the prophecy was originally about the Vessel/Dess and a third member (some people put Asriel here). Seam would make a lot of sense because the legend would be based on the kid's LARP and include Seam as a puppet, which Asriel played with (he has a drawing of Seam on his PC). Seam wearing the Mantle over his head fits the illustration of the Prince being a fire casting hooded figure perfectly.

Currently, there is basically no reward for killing Darkners. The stats you gain would've been gained anyway upon chapter increment, and you lose hundreds of interactions and funny moments.

I think the forgotten man is a repressed memory of Kris’. The chapter 4 area in the hospital, where Kris goes to “art club” (I think it’s actually art therapy) confirmed this idea for me.

When Kris paints, they do it in a way that even by the end when they finally depict what they meant to depict, it’s just a monochrome blob because their subconscious is still fighting to hide that memory from them. Maybe each egg helps them get a little closer to unlocking it, which could be why each of the forgotten man/egg sections have gotten more detailed as the chapters go on. I am also pretty sure that repressed memory has to do with Dess’ disappearance, I think both Kris and Asgore were there to see what happened but Kris saw it all while Asgore only saw a bit of it and is why he’s now doing conspiracy corkboards to piece together the whole thing. Maybe Kris repressed it because they did something wrong, and part of the reason seeing the conspiracy corkboard after the Mike fight makes Kris uncomfortable is because deep in their subconscious they’re worried that Asgore will put it all together and find out Kris did something horrible.

My guess is that you're going to have to do three routes to progress to chapter 6. Everything stops at chapter 5: Toby never mentions anything past it, the Spamton Sweepstakes hints at 5 but doesn't acknowledge 6, Gerson doesn't describe anything past the fifth book, Jackenstein's maze makes you backtrack after the field of flowers. Chapter 6 won't be available unless you do something special; the story stops (not ends, stops) at 5.

The normal playthrough is the first route.
The weird route is the second route.
The third route is when you get the Twisted Sword and pull Dess out of her trance with it.

The first theory that feels more likely is the Valentines plush one that some anon posted in one of these threads. Maybe it's just because it's cute but it seems plausible

My second less likely theory was that Ralsei doesn't have a LW equivalent, and he's something like a shapeshifter (Titan?) unknowingly. Black Ralsei looks similar but still pretty different from white, and Ralsei has a lot of shapeshifting feats. Even though they're jokes no one else does it as often as he does. If it was an item with a connection to Kris (Which it would have to be because why else would he look like Kris's brother and have an anagrammatic name) why wouldn't he ask him to take him along in the LW with Susie, or why haven't we seen it at all
If he was some sort of Dark World only being, it could explain why he can just show up in every dark world despite them being entire buildings apart. He never leaves Castletown with either Kris or Susie but is there for every Dark World. Based on chapter 2 those that leave Kris' inventory upon entering a Dark world (with the sparkle effect) are the ones that become Darkners, and we never see that happen with Ralsei because he just moseys in from offscreen.
The wrench in this theory is that Rouxls and Lancer just showed up for the TV world. They (and Starwalker) enter Kris' inventory once at the beginning of chapter 2 and to my knowledge don't return there after chapter 2 ends. of course the problem with that is that Kris still carts the Darkners around to the closet in the LW so I don't know what's going on there
