>Toby has moved on from IT'S A LE VIDEOGAME storytelling.
lol
>There's no evidence of this.
Kris certainly doesn't take after the goody-two-shoes Asriel and it's easy to imagine Dess wanting to have some fun with a kid who's willing to get in some trouble over her momma's boy boyfriend and scaredy-cat little sister.
I'm not implying that Dess was anywhere near as bad for Kris as Chara was for Asriel though, we definitely don't know enough to make a claim like that. She was probably a troublemaker like Susie, and roping Kris into exploring the Shelter was just majorly fucking up big time beyond what she ever could have expected

If Kris catches the SOUL in the sequence at Noelle's house, they'll grab it and then turn to the camera before it cuts to black.

It's possible that Kris can see what we see, sometimes. The most direct example of our perspective being limited is playing the kart game with Susie in the Green Room lobby, where we clearly can't see the TV screen.
At the very least Kris knows that we are not ALWAYS watching and listening, which implies that they can tell when we're present, somehow.

I can single out one sentence because it reveals your fundamental misinterpretation of what the game is conveying
EQUIPing Noelle is not supposed to make you think "wow Kris kind of fucked up that some part of you wanted to do that, according to this random nameless miniboss last chapter." Nothing you make Kris do is derived from what Kris wants or doesn't want. They are simply the vessel of your will whether they like it or not.

>I said that it fits that there'd be a part of him, even if it's small, to have enjoyed it.
To what end? Satisfying your angst fanfic?
Explain to me what purpose it serves to keep insisting that every time you make Kris do something horrible they actually secretly liked it
It serves no purpose but to push responsibility onto Kris. They enjoyed it, they share the blame!
>You denying that is denying who Kris is.
We know for a fact from Kris's words and deeds that they are fundamentally a good kid who doesn't want to hurt people
You are looking at that meme comic of the guy who has an intrusive thought about killing his baby, possessing him and making him actually murder his baby, and saying "well, some part of him actually wanted that"
Why?

They're not part of the town, they just moved here. Kris doesn't know who they are and doesn't care about them. The whole point of the game is unnerving Kris by simulating them killing all of their friends and family, a generic skeleton that kind of looks like the guy at the convenience store isn't really doing anything.

Why are people surprised that the Mantle game denizens are actual Darkeners?
You're in the fucking Darkworld, it's not a real game console, It's a magic box that contains tiny magical people
You can make mini-Kris fucking walk off the screen. There's a kill count for God's sake.

Ramb set up the original game for Kris.
But "someone" sabotaged it, that's why the controller is missing when you try to play it and when you go back to the hallway the FRIEND controller is mysteriously there for you to take. The game clearly gets corrupted when you plug the FRIEND controller into it.
>* Kris! How were the games? Just to your liking?
>* ... What? ... someone backstage with you?
>* No, Kris. I was back here on security the whole time.

If we genuinely have to make Kris kill them I don't know if I'd be able to go through with it
Genocide was fucked up and made me feel bad a few times but I straight up do not want to do that. I don't want to see what happens that badly.

Speaking of Kris, playing the game (to completion) also does not actually make them happy or allow them any freedom. They're clearly disturbed by what you have to do to progress, they actively resist you entering The Shelter, and to collect the Shadow Mantle you have to walk Mini-Kris out of the screen which frightens them enough that they backpedal across the room like with Spamton NEO (and if you're extra mean you can even give them a scare by trying to kill Susie).

It's just a game. It might upset Kris but it's still just a game. There is no moral weight to killing characters in a video game. You are not a bad person for killing characters in a video game. You are not a bad person for playing a video game. Toby Fox does not think you are a bad person because you played Deltarune and engaged with the scenario that he invented.
Games are supposed to be fun. If you had fun, that's all that matters. If you're not having fun, well, you don't have to force yourself to keep playing.
