Ch 2 has a very obvious plotline, Spamton always tells you exactly where to go.
Ch 4 has Gerson tell you exactly where to go.
In ch 1 and 2 you can do the secret boss sequences right before the final boss. With ch 4 the game at least makes it very obvious and signposts the point of no return.
With chapter 3 you have to S/Z rank both rounds (both of which take a fair amount of time), do three-game-within-game sequences, and find the secret key each time. If you fuck up a single step the entire sequence is locked out. It's easily the most convoluted of all the chapters. Genuinely even finding the egg was easier.

Thats why Mini-Kris comes out of the screen, and immediately threatens to kill Kris if you wish to do so, which makes him startled. But it does make Kris realize something important, you can see from his actions after, with pulling Susie out of danger, that he still wouldnt actually attack her or let her put herself in harms danger. Its very important to acknowledge this from his character, because Kris is not a good person, but he still wouldnt let his loved ones get in harms way.

That doesn't make sense. Violence is arguably the most time consuming part of the game. Enemies are so absurdly tanky past Chapter 1, and it can't just be to account for growing stronger in the Weird Route since even Chapter 3 and 4's enemies take so many turns to kill. ACTs are legitimately the fastest way to deal with enemies. Even when gaining stats from them, they don't go down nearly as quickly as when you make Noelle stronger in the Weird Route. Not to mention your stats get reset upon sealing a fountain.

The actual RPG aspect of the game is heavily restricted because of the pacifism. Not gaining stats from recruiting enemies means every enemy across the whole game needs to account for you not growing stronger, while still growing in difficulty for people who actually choose to fight. Gaining stats from fountains helps, but it then holds you back by bringing your stats back down if they went over what your intended strength level is meant to be for the next chapter. There is no benefit. You literally can't grow stronger than the game allows you.

Yes, new weapons help but there's still no reason to take 2-3 turns to attack an enemy when taking 1-2 turns to spare them is objectively faster and easier, though even then pacifying enemies is also really shittily balanced. Ralsei is the only one who can pacify an enemy, and it costs TP to do. Meanwhile the whole party can spare, which allows you to spare multiple enemies in a single turn. I prefer Deltarune's battle system over Undertale's, but it is fundamentally poorly balanced, and now Toby's committing to that poor balance because he refuses to update older chapters to include later chapter battle mechanics.
