Late to playing the game. Just beat the Knight, went a couple hours attempting to do it mantleless, but eventually switched saves to mantle and beat it in like 5 more attempts.

Thing I observed, when Susie starts talking, damage seems to stop mattering. Rather I'm not sure it matters in the first place. By the last attacks, your only goal is staying alive through the final attack. Ralsei ended up being the only survivor and I ended the battle with a 20 damage plink despite the knight apparently having more than half its HP left.

The attack I hated the most is knives. While I eventually got them down somewhat, if I wasn't focused they'd immediately fuck me up and the damage they do is absurd. The circle of knives one was the absolute worst.

The box cuts that shoot teeth felt way too RNG and when the knight starts doing diagonals it becomes impossible to do them consistently. If you camp corner, you can get fucked by double teeth and if you go to far center, you'll get fucked if the knight changes swipe direction. The variable teeth speed also meant weaving felt super inconsistent where I'd move back into a tooth I just dodged as it hadn't gotten out of the way fast enough.

Regarding the sword tunnel, while they're killer, all guarding helps a ton and you want to move minimally. The circular sword tunnel is super intimidating, but it's not too bad if you only move slightly left and right and microadjust. However even the circle one has RNG so you can get really fucked as some sword circle tunnels are nearly impossible to predict.

At some point, Kris starts jobbing intentionally and seems to die instantly to near everything when he was the sturdiest in the beginning of the fight. This is the point where it seems best to just spam healing items and guard.

This game clearly states that there is a heart which causes the conflict by crying a river of tears and a heart which assists the heroes in resolving it by guiding them "through the waves" with a "guiding light". The Soul has fulfilled every characteristic attributed to the latter, and none of the former. There is zero reason to believe that the Soul is the demon.

The permanence of the prophecy is immediately called into question when you go back into your save file after beating chapter 4 and letting the intro play, both that and Gerson are telling you that different interpretations have lots of relevance, recall Ralsei's version clearly showing Susie and referring to a simple human and not the cage description we get from the prophecy as it WAS written. Also note that Kris is the only proper knight we've seen so far in dark worlds, he gets armor, a sword and shield, meanwhile the "Roaring Knight" wields a bat, has no shield and looks more like an eldritch beast when using its full power, something isn't right here.

I have two fundamental issues with that.
First, the "crying" of the demon heart is said to have happened in the past and been what initiated the watery problem via a "river of tears". That cannot have been done by us/the Soul (as it is) because we were not there.
Second, Raise Up Your Bat states that the second heart helps fight against the demon heart. While somebody can come up with reasons why a character might do something like this, I do not see any evidence for a possible reason this might happen in the game. I am not going to assume that there is a reason without evidence, and without a reason these contradicting actions would be irrational.

The words of the prophecy haven't been changed, the roles of each character have and it's what's throwing uncertainty into events as they unfold. How would you explain the room exclusively filled with "the girl" both with and without the heart? The words may not have changed but I'd almost definitely say that some of the images have and that's being shown with how Noelle now must be the 2nd hero, having 2 different paths to fulfill the prophecy. Gerson, despite being the Lightner with the most knowledge on the prophecy says that he has no idea on Susie's fate, but that it would be tremendous no matter what it is.
