Chapter 3 also connects Kris to cards in other ways, like the "Flying Aces." It seems like they liked card games because they could cheat at them, while we know Noelle has been online from a young age (explains a lot about how she's characterized now), the Spamton Sweepstakes shows that she was already blogging when she was young enough that Dess helped her type her posts.
Tenna obviously had an important place in Kris's house, but it would be hard to actually "play" with the television. There's also a lot of vague metaphorical allusions to how Tenna gradually "won" and made the house his domain as Kris and everyone else grew up and stopped playing pretend so much and spent more time in front of the TV.
