The thing we fight in that boss fight is the Mantle itself being puppeted by whoever ERAM is.
All the things you described could still tie to Dess/The Knight.
>FRIEND could be working with/manipulating her given how The Knight is apparently covered in Shadow Crystal stuff (also the tail leading Dess into the forest)
>The Orange mouth is something of the Mantle itself or it's something of whatever magic she/FRIEND are using to control it

I don't think it makes sense for FRIEND to be talking to Kris the way the voice in the game does. It's far too personal to them. It needs to be someone intimately close with them, to the point of knowing their REAL self. Dess fits that perfectly.

Kris is a mischievous little shit that likes violent stuff, but I don't think they actually enjoy the Weird Route stuff like ERAM says.
ERAM says that to get on Kris' nerves. That's why it follows by saying Kris is making a sour face at the remarks. It knows that Kris likes violence and is saying "oh so you must just like doing all this" even though Kris literally looks away when we attack Susie and Ralsei in the game. And Kris 100% is not enjoying Weird Route stuff.
It's ERAM fucking with them so Kris will get pissed and ERAM can see their BURNING EYES.

She made the Sword Games and stole the Shadow Mantle so we'd drive Kris there, to play her sick little game she made for them. And she made it because she wants to ignite passion in Kris. As the name suggest, she wants to see Kris' BURNING EYES. When they do it, she rewards them with the Shadow Mantle which can let them survive the fight longer, pushing them towards trying harder instead of just sandbagging the fight entirely. Perhaps that's the actual reason why Kris only does normal damage to the Knight when Ralsei and Susie are down, cause the implication is they're wearing the Shadow Mantle and getting to fight the Knight fairly for a bit one on one.
