She wouldn't have been as mad in the same way if she was the one that dies. Particularly, if Kris or Noelle had to kill her, she'd scoff.
But HER being made to kill her new best friend, to be commanded to by fate, nothing could possibly piss her off more. To finally find this family and have the world tell you it will be taken away by your own hands. That would make Susie angry enough.
It's not Ralsei getting killed in the prophecy because he wouldn't have been so apologetic or ashamed if he was the victim.

Ralsei mirroring flowey in chapter 1 isn't misdirection, he legitimately WAS the flowey of the prophecy. He's been alive for so long his horns have faded, he's tired of his evil betrayer schtick, he wants a better ending. When ralsei pulls a flowey and betrays us at the very end, he'll be doing it with a frown on his face.

The betrayal happens in the bunker, kris KNOWS that it happens in the bunker. That's one of the reasons why he's trying to keep susie out. The bunker is bad news, objectively.

For those interested got good progress on blocking out buildings, just finished the Cafe so all the major buildings are "done" which in reality means they need the lighting setup, cubemaps, texture fixes, soundscapes, NPC sprites, etc. Need to go back to finishing out castletown exterior areas, and then probably switch to filling out details and polishing, fixes, figure out spawns etc.

I feel the scene where we took turn taking damage was proof enough both he and Susie would be willing to do it if they saw it as a possible solution. Though I feel like in such a scenario Susie is much more likely to force herself up "because her friends are waiting on her to come back" while Ralsei seems more likely to peacefully pass if he knows the others are alright.
It's likely why he keeps insisting to Susie that he isn't "real" per say, because if she believes that then it won't hurt her if he dies.

I think the biggest hit to my heart in chapter 4 was when Ralsei said he would do the rest of the dark world by himself if it meant susie wouldn't see the final prophecy. Today I replayed Chapter 1, Ralsei acts very differently this chapter, specially regarding Susie.
Considering at the end of Chapter 4 he mentions "I thought if we were kind enough, things would have been different" makes me believe during Chapter 1 he's putting up a facade to try teaching Susie to be pacifist, he even gets pissed off when she's being unreasonable, something we don't ever see him do again.
This also means he knows Susie is not one of the heroes, if his objective is to save her from her fate of being the dragon

Ralsei takes pride in his appearance. Showing his face is the foundation of his individuality, and his resolve to defy The Prophecy - The Prince from the Dark is supposed to stay hidden in that cloak, remember?
If you tell Kris to imply that Ralsei looks too similar to Asriel, Ralsei will not back down, the same Ralsei who takes you throwing his manual in the garbage or beating him up in effigy in stride. If Ralsei's own appearance was part of the same pattern of appealing and submission to Kris and Susie, he would just put the hat back on. But he won't do that. This is where he draws the line. Are you remembering chapter 1 correctly? It's clear he doesnt like you tossing the manual and gives it back to you multiple times acting like you didnt mean to drop it. You have to toss it multiple times before he accepts it.

Ralsei is capable of being sarcastic and rude and short-tempered. Susie didn't teach him that, he's not such an innocent boy, but he's trying hard to set a good example for everyone and wrangle The Fun Gang to do what he thinks is right.
That side of his personality becomes more subdued after Chapter 1 because he makes friends with Susie and she stops being a pain in his ass, but it's still there. He bluntly criticizes her when he's talking to Kris about her on the swan ride and he's still baffled by her [Total Jackass Stunts] sometimes, like in the band minigame. He also doesn't have as much patience for other Darkners' nonsense as he does with his friends, he yells at Queen and Tenna and other quirky bosses/minibosses when they're wasting your time and his recurring gag of ending a scene where a bunch of stupid bullshit happens with a blunt "Okay." is still going strong.

Anyway to actually address your point, I don't know why people think Susie isn't a Hero or part of the Prophecy when she's by far the most clearly and consistently depicted in every visual representation of the Prophecy we have. The Darkner in the cloak could be anybody and Kris is always just a generic human, but there's no mistaking the barbarian girl with a mullet.
I understand that "The Girl" is wielding a sword instead of an axe, but when people point to Noelle being that girl instead because she suddenly gained the ability to wield a few sword-type weapons this chapter, I have to wonder why anyone thinks Susie couldn't also just decide to wield a sword later. Isn't that exactly what Gerson is hinting at when he tells her "you hold the white pen known as hope"?
