i should get into Kenshi and check out Elin. Elona hit me like crack back in the day with the JRPG+roguelike+basebuilding combo, at some point I was playing multiple forks of it and even downloaded the mobile port which has gachashit/IAP in it. It was bad. modding in custom sprites/characters for faves and using the cosmetic weight system to fatten them up with milk, meat and bread...haha
to keep it on topic, I imagine my own Castletown/postgame as being a Dark World basebuilder and life sim, where I keep building up the town and interacting with its residents while going on dungeon trips to the depths and exploring new fountains that pop up.
it all comes back to fucking PMD and Dwarf Fortress. I should really brainstorm more for an underrune DF conversion/mod, it feels like a natural fit
