Martlet is arguably the most racist in the group, but in a way that's more subtle.
Ceroba is racist towards humans because she thinks it's necessary: "It has to be done." Her heart's not really in it.
Martlet's racism is completely nonchalant in how it transcends the idea that she's "just following orders". She looks forward to her job. Humans are simply "others" to her. As shown when she has no immediate problem killing a human child, because it's just another day being a royal guard.

This could work.

Instead of ejecting the first casing, it stays in the cylinder after being fired. The next round is loaded from the grip magazine via double-action trigger: it rotates the cylinder and pushes the slide back, which simultaneously cocks the hammer. while clover is very obviously a "justice" character I think martlet is supposed to be justice is a different way and I think this plays a part in it. some of what she says and does make me think that its clovers broad and sweeping ideals of justice vs martlet looking at justice on an individual scale. Sill thinking about the UT purple JoJo reference fic idea I had. I think it'd be cool is Gerson had some JoJo villain tier over powered ability aside from just being really strong, and I think I figured one out. He can control prose.

Specifically he can insert or remove words from lines of prose.

So if Claude (Perseverance soul) tried to use a Astronoaut Food bar on himself, Gerson would change "Claude ate the Astronaut Food." to "Claude |dropped| the astronaut food." causing it to slip from his grasp and land on the floor. Or if Claude dodged an attack, Gerson could change it from "Claude dodged the attack." to "Claude |poorly| dodged the attack" which leads to him stumbling and face planting during his dodge.

Honestly, most of this is pretty fair. I'm gonna call some minor bullshit on the idea that he doesn't see himself in Shu at all, even if he isn't aware of it consciously, but basically everything else is fair.
I also don't necessarily agree with the idea that Ceroba needs redemption as a *lover* specifically, since the majority of her failings lie in what she did with Kanako as opposed to anything directly relating to Chujin, but I guess that's honestly up to personal interpretation.
Frankly, the real biggest issue with Shu is how everyone else on that subreddit seems to have latched onto him, unironically treating him like the greatest character of all time and taking him 100% completely seriously. It really does feel like watching people worship Mr.Satan as a legend, but in real life, it's just so baffling.

I think it's due to a combination of several factors
The first being that Shu is both a fox OC (extremely safe and popular choice in that subreddit) and it's actually well drawn, this is very important because the subreddit is full of OCs that are pretty much reskined robas or they are poorly drawn, nobody cares about those OCs
And just like his species Shu is a very plain character that makes it easy to self insert as him, a good chunk of those kids (and not so kids) probably see themselves in Shu, the powerwank only makes them like him more instead of finding his character to be ridiculous, some of the other characters in the subreddit have more personality but they are obvious self inserts or stated to self inserts, enough personality to make them plain but not enough to be anything interesting they are in the awkward middle point were others can't use them as self inserts but they can't really use them as UT characters either because they don't have any interesting character traits

I can see a good story buried in this. Its just shackled by Mary Sueness and contrivance. Chujin being confronted over his mad science project, which is destroying his life and the lives of his family would be great drama. Even the character of Shu here being someone who also lost someone to the humans, but refuses let hatred and vengeance destroy what he has left would be compelling if done right. But its tied to this character who's a very obvious copy of the Ketsukanes, with superman powers, who's just shoved into their lives and accepted for no particular reason.

Setting aside all the gag fixes that could be applied to this character. I see two ways to fix him. Both require that he no longer be a turbo over powered monster superman. They also both require that his brother not die in the integrity incident. Instead just have him die as a result of the humans actions. Something to do with being trapped underground causing him to get sick with something that would be easily treatable on the surface and dying, or him getting crushed by falling garbage while playing in a patch of sunlight. Now the two options to make him fit in are either to make him not a fox, or to make him a relative of the Ketsukanes, so he can more plausibly explain why there just so happen to be two incredibly rare fox boss monsters hanging around in the same place.

I know he'll never see this, but I figure I'd chip in my two cents all the same.

Uh, Spike Spiegel is the protagonist of the anime Cowboy Bebop, an anime largely based on western themes and aesthetics that's generally considered to be one of the greatest anime of all time, with an english dub legendary for being actually really good featuring the talents of Steve Blum as Spike Spiegel.
The scene where Spike dies (some people argue over whether or not he actually died but it kinda doesn't matter since the story is over anyway and also themes and shit yadda yadda) is considered to be one of the most iconic character death scenes of all time, even outside of anime discussions.
I personally like to make comparisons between Spike and Clover specifically because of how they both die even when their friends really don't want them to, even though Spike's reasons for doing what he did were arguably much more selfish and small-scale than what Clover died for.
I particularly like to imagine Clover dying in a similar way, since the general presentation of Spike's death is also just really cool all around.

It's the shapes more than anything. Comparing the bosses of UT to the bosses of UTY, there's a similar amount of furry monsters between the two, but UTY's designs are more homogeneous than UT. A week ago I had this dream where I was in the Snowdin Barracks and I awoke in my bunk and Martlet was there looking concerned for me, her friend, because I was in a coma. Basically, the Reapers are a race(?) of bio-mechanical entities that return to the milky way galaxy about every 40,000 years or so to wipe out all lifeforms above a certain level of technological advancement, mostly spacefaring races. However, committing genocide across an entire galaxy is a difficult process, and it's not unheard of for the civilizations of the galaxy to put up a decent fight against them, so one of the methods the Reapers employ is indoctrination.
Reaper technology is capable of having a psychic effect on biological and mechanical lifeforms that spend too much time in close proximity to it, with varying different results. It's subtle at first, usually interpreted by the victim and those around them as a natural shift in their ideologies and mental state, but over time it invariably shifts to almost total insanity. For a specific example, in the first game Saren became indoctrinated by a Reaper known as Sovereign, who used it's power to convince Saren that allowing the citadel relay to be reactivated and allowing the Reapers to return would be beneficial to the various civilizations of the galaxy. Over the course of the game, Saren becomes more deeply influenced by Sovereign, to the point that eventually when the main character manages to shake Saren's trust in Sovereign, Sovereign manages to convince Saren to have Reaper technology implanted into him, effectively making him stronger as a show of "trust". In actuality, these augmentations effectively gave Sovereign complete control over Saren's body.
If you pick certain dialogue options in the final confrontation with Saren, you can momentarily snap him out of the effects of the indoctrination, which he then uses as an opportunity to kill himself. Of course, he only destroys *his* brain, and Sovereign continues to puppet his body in an attempt to kill you shortly after.
This, however, is only one way the indoctrination can manifest in it's victims.

A prominent character in Mass Effect 2 and 3 is The Illusive Man, the leader of a largely human supremacist organization known as Cerberus. In Mass Effect 2, he enlists the help of Shepard (the main protagonist of the series overall) to defeat an alien faction known as The Collectors, who have been documented attacking fringe human colonies and abducting their entire human populations. At the end of the game, when you've launched your assault on the Collector base near the center of the galaxy, The Illusive Man contacts you and asks you to spare the base itself, arguing that the Reaper technology present in the station could be invaluable in the fight against the Reapers.
In Mass Effect 3, The Illusive Man has had people studying Reaper technology for some time, steadfast in his belief that the technology can be used to defeat the Reapers, and even going so far as to believe that the Reapers can be controlled. This belief brings him and his organization into conflict with the rest of the galaxy, since he eventually comes to believe that the Reapers would be an extremely powerful asset, and therefore that they must not be allowed to be destroyed.
Even though The Illusive Man still consciously opposed the Reapers and wanted to effectively neutralize them, his exact beliefs as to how that should be accomplished caused him to fall under indoctrination as a result of his proximity to Reaper technology. Even though he never thought the Reapers were directly beneficial like Saren did, he fell victim to it regardless.

It's possible, but there's something about the absolute fanaticism, love or hate, that Shu seems to infect people with that makes something about it feel off. Even the other OCs that are (unfortunately) commonly seen on the UTY subreddit don't seem to attract this same level of attention, even the ones that aren't just other people's self-inserts.
Not to mention the way Shu's treated here. Even the people who go with the Mr.Satan interpretation are still unintentionally spreading Shu, just like how The Illusive Man fell victim to the indoctrination despite being aware of it's existence.

Starlo's state in the true pacifist ending isn't him leaving his cowboy persona behind altogether, it's him being less afraid to be himself, that was literally the entire point of his storyline in the pacifist route. He was going so hard into his whole "North Star" schtick that he let it completely consume him, to the detriment of himself and everyone around him. He even says "That's North Star to you." towards Ceroba when she calls him Starlo after the feisty five members all leave.
His obsession with maintaining his alter ego was unhealthy, and him letting go of that was what's best for him.
The other characters aren't all especially miserable in the true pacifist ending either, but they've already had more than their fair shares of arguments about them in these threads, so I don't see too much of a reason to rehash them here.

Yeah, but there's also undeniably a lot of shitty Superman stories out there too.
Intentionally overpowered and "perfect" characters are hard to write well, since you obviously can't have them dealing with the same kinds of problems as other characters because overpowered characters are by design capable of overcoming most challenges with ease.
Basing a story around asking whether or not an overpowered character can best some test of strength isn't interesting because the answer is almost always "yes, of course.". You can say that's the same about pretty much any story with a defined protagonist/hero character since the hero/protagonist rarely actually loses in most stories, but the actual point of those kinds of stories isn't usually whether or not the protagonist will succeed, it's *how* they succeed, how they get there, and how they and the people around them react and feel about it.
But that's not what Shu's stories are, and that's not what most isekais are either.
A good example of how to write an overpowered character well would be Saitama or potentially Doctor Manhattan, since their stories usually center more around how they feel about their powers and the positions it puts them in as opposed to being about whether or not they can beat some other strong guy, since they're both so strong that the question of whether or not they can beat any given opponent just isn't interesting.
