Kris leaving the door open at the end of chapter 3 makes me think it might be impossible or else extremely difficult to make a dark world outside an enclosed space. It could be that even if Asgore does try and succeed at making a dark fountain in front of everyone at the festival in broad daylight, it'll do nothing or barely anything before sputtering out due to the sun. What this means for making the Roaring happen is that it either needs to happen at night or start indoors like at the end of chapter 4 and then continue uninterrupted until reaching a theoretical critical mass.

Dess' (If it is her) form is likely difficult to maintain. As explained by the Ch. 4 secret room, the form she takes as the Knight is akin to scribbling the form of a drawing over and over, hence the effect emanating behind her in all the scenes she's in, also why she turns into static/scribbles whenever she gets hit, also why she can take multiple forms/shapeshift. Dess was likely influenced/corrupted by something, insert your own reasoning (Gaster, Dark Worlds, Friend, whatever), and the result is the Roaring Knight. This is also why she can travel to the Light World. Most likely, she isn't entirely there mentally, which is shown by her (supposed) hidden text in each chapter. She's stuck in this form, likely confused and disoriented, maybe the malicious nature we see is a result of this constant fluctuation of keeping her mental state together, possibly caused by needing to constantly focus on maintaining her physical form. Generally, there isn't really much to work off of, but I think this is going to be partly accurate to what's really going on; Some kind of 'Gaster accident' which left her in a (semi) non-corporeal state.

I think the soul was purposefully taken by Kris, maybe not for the meta reason of 'Saving/Loading', rather, maybe it knows how to make all the 'correct' decisions for Kris? This explains on a meta level why it knows how to complete things it's supposedly never encountered before. For the split attack watch the slash, if it's horizontal hug either the top or bottom walls, if it's vertical hug the left or right wall, then just dodge the shots that come out
Put the mantle on Susie since she's your main damage dealer through Rude Busters and needs to stay alive, Devilsknife is the best if you have it
