Undertale drew a strong connection between its save/reload system and the concept it was exploring, to decent success.
Deltarune doesn't really have an equivalent to that.
Maybe it will in the future, maybe the finalized version of Deltarune will blow its predecessor out of the water, but ultimately pontificating on potentials and possibilities is a waste of time.
What matters is what is in the game right now.
And currently there is not very impressive, just loose threads and whispers of intrigue.
