Not their whole childhood, just the KND stuff. You'll still have memories of friends at school and your home life. But for sure, big chunks will go missing. Also, not EVERY kid hated it, like the one dude in the comics that was part of 86's squad, he was ready and willing to give up his KND memories because of how long he was in it.
