Utawarerumono 2 is reminding me of a particular anime/manga revolving around a university otaku club, Genshiken. Originally it was an entertaining insight into otaku culture but as the series went on the club got taken over by women and the humor disappeared to make room for obnoxious fujoshi and inane melodrama. I dropped it at some point but I believe even the main character eventually became a faggot.
Also I don't think "fujoshi" is an endearing character trait in the first place. It's about as vile as a girl being obsessed with guro, but I can't imagine that being treated in the same light-hearted way that BL is.
Oh well, at least this game has grid-based tactics gameplay... wait nevermind that part sucks.
