I can't believe these threads are still going. Vitagen is basically what got me using imageboards all the time. (There really was nowhere else to even talk about Vita wasn't incredibly gay.) Its crazy how long ago that all feels now...
It was actually my dream to play Ciel nosurge back then, and I don't even know how much time I wasted watching the YouTube fan translation, and trying to get as many people to sign that petition as I could, but that group actually came through after all this time, so now I need to re-soft mod my Vita and see how the real fan translation is.
It's going to feel weird using the Vita again, especially since I use the Steam Deck daily and that thing is huge.

But that said, I'm not the best judge on open world games, I think the last one I actually played was GTAV on PS3 that had any open world stuff. Atelier Firis I don't count because yeah it tried but it really wasn't open world. The budget for Yumia is probably ten times bigger than Firis and it shows in the game itself which has been tuned into its open world systems more or less.
But it's a good thing Gust realizes that this way of gaming is not really everyones cup of tea and make more traditional one that comes out later this year. The more time I spend jumpin on rocks to see where the fuck I'm supposed to go into some area I need to go the less I enjoy my time. I don't mind open world but I think tailor made areas for specific situations work better for me.

I ended up playing Metal Gear recently off of my Vita. Maybe I'll follow it up with Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, but I'm also juggling some other games as well at the moment. Utawarerumono 2 is reminding me of a particular anime/manga revolving around a university otaku club, Genshiken. Originally it was an entertaining insight into otaku culture but as the series went on the club got taken over by women and the humor disappeared to make room for obnoxious fujoshi and inane melodrama. I dropped it at some point but I believe even the main character eventually became a faggot.
