Jap gachas have been in a shit spot for a while. KR has been fucking them in the ass with shit like Blarch, Nikke, Limbus, and Cookie Run Kingdom.
Chink gachas haven't been slouching either. I hate mihoyo shit, but you can't deny that their fagshit has found an incredibly strong niche in the market. Then you have stuff like GFL2 which has a strong western presence, PGR and Wuwa which are doing decently, Arknights which is still holding strong and and even Snowbreak is holding steady.
Meanwhile JP has FGO, Granblue and what, Uma Musume and that's really about it? All three are undeniably strong franchises but compare that to the more recent stuff in the past couple of years and it's not hard to see that JP is just coasting right now.
