It will work as long as you can fit your connectors into the tube. A good quality heat shrink tube with adhesive will have an excellent shrinking ratio, like 3:1, for example, so you will have to measure your connectors and your cables before placing an order for the tube, because it need to be a little bit larger than your connectors

Actually, now there are some tubes with adhesive inside them, so it will grip. This is my first try doing it, resulting in using too much heat, and also trying to move it while it's hot causes some adhesive to reveal itself a little
