I feel like a huge issue with older action games is their dogshit control scheme and camera controls. Terrible lock-on mechanics, wasting too many buttons to do what could've been done in a few button presses, directional inputs sometimes barely working thanks to the camera perspective. I think the best thing about Fromsoft is that they streamlined the control scheme, and Team Ninja further polished it with Nioh and Wo Long.

I'm kinda sad they are bringing back directional inputs with Nioh 3, but maybe it won't be half assed.
