In the present, Wolfden's reign causes much debate. For some, he is the Reunifier of Castonath, a faithful devotee of Corin, the Protector of Orckind, the Keeper of Peace. For others, he's someone who cared more for Orcs than for his own kind, someone who neglected the south and even the capital in favour of glamourous Castonath.

Regardless, a few key events happened during his reign that everyone can agree were good. He reunified and restored the glory of Castonath (as has been mentioned before). When the legendary Bluetusk died, he gave him a truly worthy funeral. When Castellos was proclaimed dead, he was the first to proclaim Corin as his successor and played an invaluable role in converting the Orcs to the one true faith. He also cared about foreign powers interfering in Escann, and made sure to reclaim the entryways to the Deepwoods from the Orcs.

His reign ended without fanfare when the Crimson Deluge began in 1435. Shortly after winning a brutal holy war against the crypto-Adeanist elves of the Deepwoods, he began seeing visions of the distant future, where Orcs were slaughtering faithful Corinites by the millions for no apparent reason. He became increasingly paranoid and eventually lashed out against one of his Orcish guards with a knife; unsurprisingly, this ended with a blow to Rosamond's head with an axe.

He had appointed an otherwise unknown apprentice of his, Reanna sil Crothan, as successor. If Wolfden is controversial, Reanna is hated. She waged only one war against the Bladebreakers; after seeing what a war entails, she vowed to never wage it again. She disbanded the Orcish Guard, broke the alliance with Marrhold, sent death threads to the ruler of Gawed for little reason, among other questionable policies. Most boldly, she tried reconciling with the estates. The adventurers had requested her to wage war in the Deepwoods. After refusing, one of the adventurers stabbed her in the heart from behind. Just like that, her reign had ended.
