that's a ridiculous idea. I don't know if it's dumb on purpose cause it's in universe propaganda, or if the movie is dumb, but I'm pretty sure it's the former. the asteroid would take 100,000 years to fly across the galaxy IF it was travelling at light speed, which there's no way the bugs are capable of producing because they're fucking bugs.
