Strongly disagree, Yoru has never been a one note character. There were plenty of moments where she showcased more complex behavior beyond the desire to best Chainsaw Man, such as when she shown concern over Asa suicidal thoughts, offering to deal with her bullying problems and frustration at her disobedience, all for someone who was supposedly just a hostage for her.
The desire to best Chainsaw Man was never merely rooted in pride like a typical villain, she has shown moments of vulnerability such as expressing frustration over being forgotten and being hesitant to turn Gun & Tank into weapons as it put her desire to regain her lost camaradarie with her pride (what the whole bathtub scene was about), then seemingly grieving silenlty over them.
