Without Denji in the equation, she'd not really be interesting at all.
Her "romance" with Denji brought some much needed life to a fairly one note villain that seemed to be just another Devil obsessed with besting the Chainsaw Man.
Through the relationship with Denji, we see signs that there's more than meets the eye with Yoru, just like some of the previous Devils that dealt with Denji.

None of that was used in any meaningful way, it even feels dispassionate coming from Fujimoto, just like most things in Part 2 when compared to Part 1.
