It started going downhill pretty quickly. I remember Hugo played the role as a major antagonist in earlier seasons. But then he was used less and less. His last appearance was in season 11 in Romancing the Beef on February 21, 2021.
Earlier seasons were more about the challenges of running a restaurant. You can really only write stuff about the restaurant for so long, all there is is a small dining room, a kitchen, basement, and storage. It's really hard to make new stories in such a confined space.
And I'm getting pretty tired of these episodes where the kids at Wagstaff get the A plot while Bob and Linda just dick around at the restaurant. The series may as well be renamed to Wagstaff School at this point. None of the other students or staff at the school is appealing.
And STOP making all these spoof episodes. There are SO MANY spoof episodes in Bob's Burgers and Great North. They aren't good. Stop making so many of them.
