The Switch 2 will not remain $450 USD, it will jump up at least $50 in price after they run out of "untariffed" Switch 2s to sell. Nintendo is no longer the cheap, family company anymore. Nintendo is now catering specifically to an audience that has money, and is willing to spend it. Nintendo hardware is being rebranded into a status symbol, a premium luxury for gamers who demand quality.

Furukawa will go down as a business genius, he knows Nintendo's IPs and games are ridiculously valuable and is milking them for all their worth. Switch 2 is the answer to everyone who called Switch 1 underpowered. It's also the most secure console of all-time and seemingly impossible to hack, custom firmware and emulation for Switch 2 will likely take years. The man is not fucking around, he's here to make paper.
