The Switch 2 will not remain $450 USD, it will jump up at least $50 in price after they run out of "untariffed" Switch 2s to sell. Nintendo is no longer the cheap, family company anymore. Nintendo is now catering specifically to an audience that has money, and is willing to spend it. Nintendo hardware is being rebranded into a status symbol, a premium luxury for gamers who demand quality.
>Apple had a CEO who was a visionary who created the iPhone and iPad, then died an untimely death.... the are currently still just iterating on the iPhone and iPad.
>Nintendo had a President who was a visionary who conceptualized the Switch 1, then died an untimely death... they are currently just iterating on the Switch 1.
>Apple develops all their own hardware custom built, and designs all their in house software to be optimized for Apple's specific hardware. Which is why their software like Logic has the prestige of being "premium" and for the professional who wants high grade software, or end user who wants premium software.
>Nintendo develops all their own hardware custom built in part with Nvidia, and designs all their in house software to be optimized for their specific hardware. Which is why their first party games have the prestige of being considered "premium", often get reviewed very highly and are always the best selling games on their consoles.
>Apple knows their products are expensive, but their consumers understand the value.
>Nintendo is now making all their products expensive, but their consumers understand the value.
Furukawa will go down as a business genius, he knows Nintendo's IPs and games are ridiculously valuable and is milking them for all their worth. Switch 2 is the answer to everyone who called Switch 1 underpowered. It's also the most secure console of all-time and seemingly impossible to hack, custom firmware and emulation for Switch 2 will likely take years. The man is not fucking around, he's here to make paper.
Being premium comes with all the usual baggage
>We support LGBT and we don't discriminate against race or people's wanted gender
>Our software and hardware pricing must reflect the additions made to the... platform systems... and the...
>did you know you can use the controller like a mouse now?
>We're so proud of our fans, but we also think about how to reach people haven't become fans yet (Fuck the fans) :)
>Please check out Nintendo Music, it's an app you download, and it allows you to listen to a vast catalog of music from all your favorite Nintendo games. It's free of charge as long as you paid for Nintendo Online Premium (40 usd / annually) it's completely consumer friendly and doesn't infringe on our copyright, maybe not so friendly to SilvaGunner, heh.
>Also please buy the new Donkey Kong amiibos. We're also adding Donkey Kong 64 later to the N64 Online service, which was our console which came out in 1996, which is a Great Piece of Nintendo History (buy our N64 and Gamecube controllers for 50 USD heh)
>Nintendo just has such a great legacy, I mean. NES/Famicom, the SNES or Super Famicom, the N64, the Gameboy, the Gameboy Color, the GameCube, the DS family and Wii system, and the Switch 1, the Lite, the OLED and now the Switch 2 -- all adding fantastic value to the consumer.
>We're currently developing so much content. It's just content, content, content, and I think our headcount is well above 800 people now, and it just keeps growing :)
>We've moved all our Voice Recording to California now, it really centralizes everything for us, and makes production more efficient than ever. Who knows, Nintendo could even centralize everything to California. Worked out great for Sony, heh.
>>715054418 (OP)itโs still the cheaper than the other consoles with disc drives though?
I'll somehow be the cheapest option once the PS6 and Xbox 2 comes out
No point going cheap with orange retard's ongoing temper tantrum making it impossible for markets to stabilize.
>>715054418 (OP)correct
they're the vidya industry's shining example of the utter kikery in picrel
>>715056609Snoys are twice the cult tendies are but luckily the snoy demographic of shitskin retards canโt into self reflection
>>715054418 (OP)You got something right
It is a brand like Apple
A brand made for absolute fucking drooling mongoloids
But not "no"
It has always been
>>715056773snoys have died out over the last decade
there are barely any left, much less in /v/
>>715056773>snoysdead meme, they call jumped ship and became switchfags
>>715054418 (OP)Exactly. And itโs fanbase is the same batch of autists who will line up for whatever mid product they fart out.
The way I see it is that Nintendo cannibalized their handheld market to save their failing console market.
If you remove the wii from the console timeline, which was a fad. You see a continual decrease in hardware sales over time.
They shuttered their handheld market which was getting 100+ million sales with each iteration to swap to a hybrid system that does less sales and now they don't even have a second platform to put games into.
They are making less games, they are making less overall.
>>715057383>If you remove the wii from the console timeline, which was a fad. You see a continual decrease in hardware sales over time.>if you remove the thing that contradicts my statement, it becomes true>They shuttered their handheld market which was getting 100+ million sales with each iteration to swap to a hybrid system that does less salesSwitch 1 is at 152 million.
>>715054418 (OP)But it's the cheapest of the three consoles with the most games and consumer friendliness. You can still re-download games you purchased on your Wii or 3DS and it's the only of the 3 consoles that offers free repairs for your controllers regardless of warranty.
500 is not a premium price in 2025 monopoly money anon. The price for an entry level laptop used to be 400 a decade ago, now it's 600. You compare it to apple, the iphone 16 was 700 dollars.
When the PS6 comes out it's going to be 650 minimum, and that's at a heavy loss which would be subsidized by a 100 dollar online fee.
>>715057457SNES and Gameboy
N64 and GB color
Gamecube and GBA
Wii and DS
Wii U and 3DS
Switch and nothing else.
Switch looks good on paper, but comparatively it is on par with Gamecube GBA era in terms of hardware sold.
One more Wii U and they are out of the game hardware industry because they don't have a diversified platform anymore. If the Wii U was their only hardware they were selling at the time they would've bankrupted, but because they had the 3DS they were able to continue despite performing horribly.
>>715058027152 million is more than every previous combined generation of console + handheld aside from Wii + DS, the former of which you proposed to ignore anyway. All other gens average to 100 to 120 million console + handheld.
>If the Wii U was their only hardware they were selling at the time they would've bankrupted, but because they had the 3DS they were able to continue despite performing horribly.Irrelevant point to bring up as long as their current strategy continues to work. Also not true since Nintendo could eat several failures in a row with how much money they have.
>>715057383>They are making less games, they are making less overall. They're making less games but with greater profit because they're not splitting resources across two platforms.
>>715054418 (OP)Bro $450 is like $200 from 2019.
>>715054418 (OP)>It's also the most secure console of all-time and seemingly impossible to hackwhere have I heard this before?
>>715054418 (OP)>Nintendo is no longer the cheap, family company anymoreThey haven't been cheap in decades lol what the fuck is your problem. the n64 was more expensive than the ps1
>>715058027>One more Wii U and they are out of the game hardware industry because they don't have a diversified platform anymore. If the Wii U was their only hardware they were selling at the time they would've bankruptedLiterally not true, they had enough cash to weather multiple Wii Us.
I'm not reading this nonsense. You are having daily melties these days it's not good for you.
>>715054418 (OP)>nowhave you been in a coma for almost 20 years?
>>715058027>comparatively it is on par with Gamecube GBA era in terms of hardware sold.GBA + Gamecube is 100 million-ish, the Switch sold 50 million more. And nearly twice the software I might add.
You are retarded.

poor families have access to basically free games. their kids are using kindle tablets or old ipads with cracked screens. they just download app store shovelware and watch the ads. temple run and roblox
who is buying their kids a switch? not the cheap parents. mainly middle classers.
adult tendies will paypig regardless
>>715054418 (OP)If the last 5 years have taught me something is that the price of electronics are not going down with time but up. So yeah, might as well to be an early adopter because that's how you "get a deal"
>>715054418 (OP)Apple doesn't sell you ancient, outdated hardware for premium prices, they atleast pretend to offer you cutting edge technology for a high price.
>>715059832>Apple doesn't sell you ancient, outdated hardware for premium prices,Man, mutts out themselves too easily.
>>715059993You should have read the rest of the sentence.
I'm a lifelong Nintendo fan.
I actually have no fucking idea why they're getting away with making things so expensive. I guess people will just line up to waste money if you give them half a chance.
I'm still holding out hope that Switch 2 games sell just poorly enough that they bring back something akin to the Player's Choice range. Don't know if I can really justify buying the console otherwise.
>>715060856That's what I'm saying, GBA's life was just mere 3 fucking years and sold 80M.
>>715054418 (OP)>The Switch 2 will not remain $450 USD, it will jump up at least $50 in price after they run out of "untariffed" Switch 2s to sell. You already tried that cope
