Sonic wouldn't be shy or blush or sweat. But his inability to get together with Amy is a reflection of his inability to take responsibility for anything. Once he pushes past this character flaw and becomes someone with a purpose, there will be no obstacles anymore, and he will admit his love for Amy in a cool fashion.
