its special because its innocent and everyone is still figuring it out. To put it in terms you might understand better - you ever played an online game and realized theres something special and kind of magical right after it launches? How everyone's just kinda figuring it out and sharing their experiences without having a clear goal in mind? Just people having fun with it as it comes. Then how after the games been out for a year or two it kinda just feels stale. How much less people are playing for the fun of it and instead everyone is just following a guide, rushing whatever the meta build is, and is just going for the best gear/rushing the endgame?
Teen/student love is kind of like that. Youre still figuring yourself out, your partner is figuring themself out. You are both learning what boundaries are, what you're comfortable with, what you like, and have no real pressure aside from school and eachother.
Relationships in your 20s and beyond are a lot less romantic in a sense. Everyone generally has an idea of what they want. Dating is a lot less explorative and more objective with certain needs in mind. Its much less of figuring out or how to do things, but just kind of agreeing okay we're gonna do this now. You also have the stress of adult responsibilities, bills, jobs, etc making you have to be a lot more pragmatic about everything rather than just living in the moment and not caring about whether there may be consequences to your actions.
Thats not to say love and romance isnt enjoyable in later stages of life - but teen/student love really is something magic and can only be experienced once.
