Opinions and all that, gohan's super saiyan 2 boost felt like a great payoff as a westerner that got into the franchise from Z. When you have an entire half of the story to follow Goku it makes more sense that people would be attached to him. Either way, Superhero is where following this exact story beat ends up looking disingenuous and butt ugly awful with this logic.
