It wanted to jump the entire intersectional gamuck, by also being about environmentalism, the police being bad, immigrants being good, and nuclear energy being bad. How do they justify nuclear being bad? In their setting, they invented nuclear plants much safer and easier than the ones we have today, and then say "Let's build them all in one place in the middle of the ocean where tsunamis happen!"
These people cannot create good art.
