Eh, not necessarily. I'm a furfag and have seen some SFW artists get much earned attention. NSFW art appeals to the most basic instinct of humans, of course it'll be much easier to attract views with it, the bar is low and easily reachable, even low skill artists can attract a following by drawing a niche fetish for example.
I've been in this fandom for 10 years now and porn ain't all that's cracked up to be, it has understandably lost its luster to me, sure you'll get a nice hit of dopamine but creatively speaking it's not fruitful. How is drawing porn going to help you grow as an artist? I will say that it will improve your grasp on anatomy and also perspective if you're so daring, but other than that they convey no message, your mind is pleased in the moment but will stagnate in the long run, consume it long enough and you'll become bogged in this pleasant trap, I've seen some artists actually regress over the years (Peritian, Viktria/Zummeng, Jailbird, Aaron, the list goes on). Why SHOULD you improve? You're drawing the same fucking poses over and over again of 2 dudes plugging holes, no shit dude.
I think the NSFW-to-SFW success stories are an example of survivorship bias and also of the feeling I have that they succeeded in spite of the porn, they would've made it even without it, and conversely just because you're gonna draw porn will not guarantee your own success. Being a porn artist is the art equivalent of being a prostitute, is that really what you want to be known for, the goal you aspire to? It's your choice, but if you have it in you you can do better than that, there's so much porn already you'll just be adding it to the pile
