I remember reading about how the CJ7 was "unsafe" and there was a flurry of pearl clutching and grandstanding in Congress about vehicle safety
Turns out, the footage that was released about CJ's "rolling over" was heavily edited
B roll surfaced that showed the driver coming back and saying that he was doing the test the way it was supposed to be done, and the vehicle refused to roll over.
AMC made a good vehicle

He did. That is what was falsely portrayed to Congress
Too late - the damage had been done. AMC was on a clock. They sold out to Chrysler, etc, etc...
Most excellent version was the CJ8. I had the chance to buy one, once. Passed. Should have grabbed it when I had the chance
